Ronald Alexander, President, R. Alexander Associates, Inc.

Ronald Alexander is a horticulturist with over 23 years of experience with compost and other organic recycled products, including digester by-products. He is the President of R. Alexander Associates, Inc., a consulting company specializing in product and market development for organic recycled products. He has completed over 200 related projects since becoming a consultant and has been responsible for the distribution of millions of tons of organic recycled products. Before becoming a consultant, Mr. Alexander was Vice President of Marketing for a firm that specialized in marketing composted products.

Ricardo Amon, California Energy Commission

Ricardo Amon joined the California Energy Commission as an Agricultural Specialist in 1987 and helped start a newly funded agricultural energy assistance program. Currently, he participates in programs that offer access to education and training opportunities, research and development grants, and emerging technology low-cost finance loans. Mr. Amon works to advance energy efficiency in the production and processing of agricultural products. Within the food processing industry, he promotes a corporate commitment to energy efficiency, encourages the use of available resources to achieve demand efficiency, and explores bio-energy production. Mr. Amon graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a specialty in agricultural economic development.


Scott J. Anders, Director of Energy Policy Initiatives Center, University of San Diego School of Law

Mr. Anders is the Director of the Energy Policy Initiatives Center (EPIC) at the University of San Diego School of Law, where he manages academic and research activities. Prior to joining the center, Mr. Anders was Director of Policy and Planning at the San Diego Regional Energy Office (SDREO), where he directed legislative and regulatory activities. Before joining SDREO, Mr. Anders was a policy researcher for the Washington, D.C., think tank, the Center for a Sustainable Economy. In this position, he researched market-based policy options in the energy and environmental sectors. Mr. Anders was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mali, West Africa. He holds an M.A. in public policy, with a concentration in environmental policy, from the University of Maryland’s School of Public Policy.

William Bennett, Anheuser Busch

Since 1981, William Bennett has held a variety of positions at Anheuser Busch, including environmental engineer, design engineer, Area Manager of Maintenance of Brewing, and operations/maintenance of utilities. Since 1994 to the present, Mr. Bennett has been responsible for capital work, utilities, and facilities. Prior to joining Anheuser Busch, he was responsible for design and survey review for the County of Napa, Water District Management. Before working for the County, Mr. Bennett was in general construction for PG&E. He has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from California State University, Sacramento, and is a Registered Civil Engineer in the State of California.


Fernando Berton, Senior Specialist, California Integrated Waste Management Board (Invited)

Fernando Berton is a Senior Specialist for the California Integrated Waste Management Board. For the past six years, Mr. Berton has been the primary staff person researching emerging solid waste technologies. Currently, he represents the Board on the Bioenergy Interagency Working Group, California Biomass Collaborative, and the Los Angeles County Conversion Technology Subcommittee. He has worked in the solid waste field for over 20 years in various capacities; for example, he provided grants and technical assistance for the management of household hazardous waste and used oil and has also worked in an enforcement capacity. Mr. Berton has degrees in microbiology and chemistry from California State University, Sacramento.


Kevin D. Best, CEO, RealEnergy, LLC

Kevin Best is CEO and founding partner of RealEnergy, a leading developer of on-site power and pioneer of bioenergy generation. With over 25 years of experience, Mr. Best has successfully developed numerous clean distributed energy systems, solar PV, combined heat and power systems, and energy efficiency projects and is currently investing in cutting edge bioreactor technologies for private, public, and institutional owners. He is the General Partner of the RealEnergy CleanTech Fleet Opportunity Fund–an emerging $200 million investment in ultra-clean energy from animal waste and highly efficient power systems for hospitals and municipal wastewater facilities. During his career, Mr. Best has provided peer review of public investments for the Department of Energy, testified as an expert witness on behalf of the California Energy Commission, and served on several boards of energy-related companies and organizations.


Kevin D. Best

Rod Boschee, Manager, Business Development, Gas Transmission & Distribution, Pacific Gas & Electric

Rod Boschee is the Manager of Business Development in the Gas Transmission and Distribution Group for Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E). He has been with PG&E for over 42 years with 32 years of that service in the gas acquisition and transportation business. His responsibilities include developing and implementing new gas-related business opportunities in support of PG&E’s “Green Initiatives.” He is also responsible for managing all of the large customer and gas supplier interconnections to the gas transmission pipeline system. Mr. Boschee is presently focusing on the development of the contract requirements, rules, and specifications necessary to accept biogas from dairy waste into PG&E’s gas transmission pipelines.

Don Brock, Technical Manager, Frito-Lay, Inc.

Don Brock is the Technical Manager at the Frito-Lay, Inc., manufacturing plant located in Modesto, California. He has over 11 years of experience in the snack food business managing the plant’s maintenance, engineering, utilities, and regulatory functions. Mr. Brock is considered an expert on resource conservation implementation within the company. Frito-Lay, Inc, a subsidiary of PepsiCo based out of Plano, TX, has continued its legacy of community and environmental citizenship by embarking on an energy conservation agenda over the last 10 years that has netted significant reduction in usage of utilities and emission of greenhouse gases. They have been recognized by Energy Star and Alliance to Save Energy as well as 31 other nationally recognized rewards for their sustainability programs.


Susan Brown, Special Advisor to Commissioner Boyd, California Energy Commission

Susan J. Brown serves as a Special Advisor to California Energy Commission Vice-Chair, James D. Boyd and is responsible for developing and recommending legislative policy, transportation fuels policy, and climate change policy. In September 2005, she assumed responsibility for coordinating the work of the Bioenergy Interagency Working Group, composed of nine state agencies with interest in biomass issues. She was also responsible for coordinating development of the State of California’s Bioenergy Action Plan, which is intended to stimulate near-term state actions to encourage biomass and bio-fuels development in California. This Action Plan was publicly released by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on July 13, 2006. For nearly a decade, Ms. Brown served as the Special Advisor to three different gubernatorial appointees to the Energy Commission, advising the Commissioners on a wide range of energy policy and technical issues. She was recently selected by the Energy Commission for a Sustained Superior Accomplishment Award in recognition of her contributions to the Commission’s climate change program.


Susan Brown

Chuck Clendenin, Program Director, USDA Rural Development, State of California

Chuck Clendenin is the Program Director for the USDA Rural Development Business-Cooperative Services programs in California. He has held this position since 1994 and has overseen the delivery of over $1 billion in financial assistance to the State’s rural areas. He administers the Guaranteed Business and Industry loan program–which has been the largest state program in the country for the past 13 years. Mr. Clendenin advises the Economic Development Corporations and public entities on ways they can achieve their economic development goals and has participated on several statewide committees and task forces to promote economic development. Mr. Clendenin has also worked for the United States Department of Agriculture under several management positions throughout California. He has a degree in Agriculture Business Management from the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.


The Honorable Thomas (Tom) Dorr, Undersecretary for Rural Development, U.S. Department of Agriculture

Thomas Dorr joined USDA in 2001 and was appointed by President George W. Bush in 2002 to be the Under Secretary for Rural Development. As Under Secretary, he serves as the Chairman of the USDA Energy Council, which strives to promote the production of domestically grown fuel. Mr. Dorr has broad agricultural, financial, and business experience. He has served on the Board of Directors of the 7th District Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, the Iowa Board of Regents, and as an officer of the Iowa and National Corn Growers Associations. Prior to joining the USDA, Mr. Dorr was the President of a family agribusiness company consisting of a corn and soybean farm, a state-licensed commercial grain elevator and warehouse, and two limited liability companies. Mr. Dorr has a degree in Business Administration from Morningside College.


Thomas Dorr

Patsy Dugger, Supervising Program Manager, Agriculture and Food Processing, Pacific Gas & Electric

Patsy Dugger is the Supervising Program Manager for Agriculture and Food Processing within PG&E’s customer energy management programs, targeting food processors, dairies, wineries and vineyards, farmers, greenhouses, and refrigerated warehouses. In this role, Ms. Dugger develops and implements programs that provide education and training, technical resources, and financial incentives to the agriculture and food processing market to support integrated energy management planning–from energy analysis to developing energy efficiency and self-generation strategies. Prior to managing energy efficiency programs at PG&E, Ms. Dugger worked at Honeywell DMC as well as an internet startup company. She has a B.A. from Connecticut College in Anthropology and Environmental Studies.

Robert Holmes, Senior Integrated Waste Management Specialist, California Integrated Waste Management Board

Robert Holmes is a Senior Integrated Waste Management Specialist with the California Integrated Waste Management Board. He has been with the Board for 16 years, serving in various capacities. He is currently the Regulations and Legislation Coordinator for the Waste Compliance and Mitigation Program. Prior to coming to the Board, Mr. Holmes worked for the Orange County Health Care Agency as a Hazardous Waste Specialist.

Judith Iklé, Energy Division, California Public Utilities Commission

Judith Iklé is a Program Manager in the Procurement, Renewables and Climate Strategy Branch of the Energy Division at the California Public Utilities Commission. This branch includes electric procurement and resource adequacy, the Renewable Portfolio Standards program, distributed generation, and the California Solar Initiative. Prior to this position, she served as Supervisor of the Federal Electric Section and as a Senior Analyst on the environmental review team. Before joining the Commission, Ms. Iklé was a policy analyst with the U.S. EPA in the Climate Policy & Programs Division. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Environmental Studies from McGill University and a Master’s in Environmental Management from Duke University.

David B. Jones, Associate Director, Waste Management Division, EPA Region 9

David Jones is an Associate Director in the Waste Management Division of the U.S. EPA, Region 9. His current program responsibilities include pollution prevention, waste minimization, recycling, energy conservation, industry partnership, and tribal solid waste programs. During his 30 years at EPA, Mr. Jones has managed Superfund hazardous waste site clean-up, wastewater permitting, water quality standards, drinking water, enforcement, wastewater treatment plant construction grant, information management, and hazardous waste management programs in the San Francisco Regional office. Mr. Jones received a B.S. and an M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University.


David B. Jones

Louie Kazemier, Owner, Rickreall Dairy

Louie Kazemier has been in the dairy business for 20 years. For the past 16 years, he has been dairying in Rickreall, Oregon, after moving his farm from Chino, California. Mr. Kazemier milks about 1,450 Holstein cows and has another 1,500 young stock on his facility. Throughout the years, his herd has won many top production awards. His dairy hosts “dairy tours” to the public school system, with approximately 2,000 students touring the facility every year. In addition, his dairy helps out many FFA chapters and 4H clubs. For the past six years, Mr. Kazemier has been working toward building a digester for his facility; however, regulations and funding has hindered his progress. Working with Kevin Best and the Real Energy Team, Mr. Kazemier is currently in the final planning stages and hopes to startup his new digester in the fall of 2007.


Raymond Kindley, Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt

Raymond Kindley has extensive experience representing utilities before state and federal regulatory agencies, including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the Bonneville Power Administration. He has negotiated dozens of long-term power supply contracts, project development contracts, and operating agreements. Mr. Kindley has been lead counsel in the negotiation of fuel supply, transmission, and ancillary services contracts, and is currently General Counsel for Wasco Electric Cooperative. Prior to practicing law, he worked for the Grant County PUD and the Pacific Northwest Utilities Conference Committee. He has a B.S. from the University of Washington; received his Juris Doctor degree from Northwestern School of Law, Lewis & Clark College; and is a member of the Washington and Oregon Bar Associations.


Raymond Kindley

Dr. Dieter Jürgen Korz, Ros Roca, Esslingen, Germany

Dr. Korz, an expert in biogas technology and environmental engineering, works for the German branch of Ros Roca, a company that leads the international market in supplying turnkey biogas plants. Prior to joining Ros Roca in 2001, Dr. Korz helped several companies develop biogas plants which utilize biomass from municipality, industry, and agriculture waste. He has been involved in the process design, engineering, and start up of 30 large-scale biogas plants and his work has influenced the use of biogas technology throughout Europe. Over the past few years, Dr. Korz has also been involved with upgrading biogas technologies to assure the technology is achieving the highest energy conversion possible. Dr. Korz began his career studying food technology at the Technical University of Munich, where he specialized in bioprocess engineering. He then received a Ph.D. at the German National Research Centre for Bioprocess Engineering.

Pramod Kulkarni, Program Manager, Public Interest Energy Research (PIER), California Energy Commission

Pramod Kulkarni is currently a Program Manager for industrial energy efficiency RD&D for the Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) at the California Energy Commission. He works closely with the California industries to develop cost-effective energy efficiency and reliability solutions for energy use. For the last 17 years, Mr. Kulkarni has held several positions at the Commission in the area of technology development and commercialization for renewable energy, distributed electric generation, electricity storage, industrial and water treatment technologies. Prior to working at the Commission, Mr. Kulkarni worked for the National Center for Appropriate Technology–working with private companies and a Fortune 100 company to finance energy technology development. His academic background includes a B.S, an M.S., and an MBA in finance.

Glen Lewis, Energy and Supply Chain Management Advisor, California Institute of Food and Agricultural Research (CIFAR), UC-Davis

As the former Director of Energy & Indirect Procurement for Del Monte Foods, Glen Lewis has over 25 years of experience in all facets of operations management. Mr. Lewis is an Industrial Energy Efficiency Advisor for the California Energy Commission and a member of the California League of Food Processors Energy Committee Food Industry Advisory Council for the California Institute of Food & Agricultural Research (CIFAR) at the University of California, Davis. He leads a California food industry electricity demand response research initiative with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and is also an Advisory Board member for the new food industry Innovation & Productivity Center (IPC) in the Northwest. In January 2007, Mr. Lewis began serving on Governor Schwarzenegger’s Green Action Team. Recently, he served as Team Leader for a U.S. Department of Energy demonstration project to develop best practices in the U.S. food industry–a project that earned a 2005 State of California Flex-Your-Power award for Energy Education & Leadership. Glen is a graduate of UCLA and received his MBA from The College of William & Mary. He completed an executive education program in supply chain management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.


Glen Lewis

Tim Lipman, Assistant Research Engineer, Institute of Transportation Studies at University of California (UC), Berkeley

Tim Lipman, PhD, is an Assistant Research Engineer with the Institute of Transportation Studies at University of California (UC), Berkeley. His research focuses on fuel cell technology, combined heat and power systems, renewable energy, hydrogen infrastructure, and electric-drive vehicles. He is managing several transportation/energy analyses and field-testing projects as well as serving as Research Director for the Institute’s Transportation Sustainability Research Center. Through an affiliation with UC Berkeley’s Energy and Resources Group, Dr. Lipman also co-directs the Pacific Region Combined Heat and Power Application Center for the U.S. Department of Energy and California Energy Commission. He has two degrees from UC Davis, a Ph.D. in Environmental Policy Analysis and an M.S. in Transportation Technology and Policy, and he is a graduate of Stanford University.

Dr. Karl E. Longley, Research Engineer, California Water Institute

Karl E. Longley is the former Dean of Engineering and Computer Science at California State University, Fresno, where he championed equal opportunity programs to recruit students into engineering programs. Dr. Longley also served for 13 years as a gubernatorial appointee on California’s Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board and as the chairman of ASCE’s Water Supply and Resource Management Committee. In addition, he was an Environmental Engineer Officer and Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army. Currently, Dr. Longley is working as a research engineer with the California Water Institute. He is a member of the American Water Works Association, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the International Association for Water Quality, the Nature Conservancy, and the Water Environment Federation. Dr. Longley earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Science and Doctorate from the Johns Hopkins University.

Michael Marsh, Chief Executive Officer, Western United Dairymen (WUD) and Western United Resource Development, Inc.

Michael Marsh is the Chief Executive Officer of Western United Dairymen (WUD), as well as CEO of Western United Resource Development, Inc. He is a public accountant by training, specializing in farm, ranch, and estate taxation; litigation support; and forensic accounting. Prior to his work with WUD, he was the Director of Finance and Administration for the Almond Board of California. Mr. Marsh has two undergraduate degrees, in accounting and history, from the University of Wyoming.

Dr. Chris McCarthy, Superintendent/President, Napa Valley College

Dr. Chris McCarthy has served as Superintendent/President at Napa Valley College since January 2002. During his 25 years in California community colleges, he has held positions as Executive Vice President of Instructional Services at Glendale College and as Academic Dean, Division Chair, and professor of English at Los Angeles Harbor College. He holds a Doctorate in Higher Education and a Master of Arts in Education from UCLA, a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Oregon, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Immaculate Heart College.

Chris McCarthy

Vince McDonnell, Co-Director, Pacific Region Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Application Center (PRAC)

Dr. Vince McDonnell has served as Associate Director of the University of California, Irvine, Advanced Power and Energy Program (APEP) for the past 10 years and as Co-Director of the Pacific Region Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Application Center (PRAC) since 2003. He has over 15 years of experience in the design, operation, and characterization of continuous combustion systems and associated components, which has been documented in over 40 publications. For the past 7 years, Dr. McDonnell has been studying distributed generation (DG) devices and systems, including emissions, efficiency, sound, and power quality as well as system reliability and economics. In addition, he is directing a project to characterize actual electrical and thermal loads at a large number of facilities that appear to have high potential for deploying DG/CHP. Dr. McDonnell has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from UC Irvine.


John Menke, Senior Environmental Scientist, California State Water Board

John Menke is a Senior Environmental Scientist at the California State Water Board, representing the Board on issues involving bio-energy and animal feeding operations (AFOs). He serves on several panels and workgroups, including the California Dairy Quality Assurance Program, the Dairy Power Production Program, the Bio-energy Interagency Working Group, and the Biomass Collaborative. Mr. Menke works with the U.S. EPA and other regulatory agencies to develop and implement regulatory programs for AFOs and bio-energy facilities. He also works with the University of California, the USDA, Natural Resources Conservation Service, environmental groups, and industry representatives to evaluate waste management practices, develop guidance documents, and assist facility operators in understanding and complying with environmental regulations. Prior to joining the State Water Board, Mr. Menke worked for the agricultural regulatory program at the Central Valley Regional Water Board in Sacramento.


Francois Rongere, Pacific Gas & Electric

Mr. Rongere has been responsible for Emerging Technologies in the Industry Sector at PG&E since January 2006. His mission is to find, assess, and promote innovations to assist PG&E’s industrial customers to improve their energy efficiency. Prior to joining PG&E, Mr. Rongere launched and served as CEO of Easenergy Inc., a fully-owned venture subsidiary of Electricite de France (EDF, a French utility), where he developed a portfolio of 13 investment partnerships throughout the U.S. Prior to this, for 15 years he worked in the R&D Division of EDF where he developed innovative products for a variety applications–from nuclear safety and operations to industrial, commercial, and residential end-use services. He has taught Thermodynamics and Fluid Dynamics at engineering schools and created one of the first engineering fire safety science courses in France in 1999. He is a graduate of the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble.


Francois Rongere

Dr. John Rosenblum, Rosenblum Environmental Engineering

Dr. John Rosenblum specializes in resolving industrial water and wastewater problems by identifying process improvements that use less water, less energy, and less chemicals. The resulting savings can quickly repay installation costs and greatly reduce environmental impacts. Dr. Rosenblum has a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering and an M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from the Technion in Israel. His Ph.D. is from Stanford University’s Department of Civil Engineering, where his research focused on solar energy, cogeneration, energy efficiency, and waste minimization in the food-processing industry.


Dr. Diane Saber, Director of Environmental Science and Forensic Chemistry Center, Gas Technology Institute

Dr. Diane Saber has over 26 years of experience in waste-to-energy systems and hazardous waste treatment. Currently, she is Director of the Environmental Science and Forensic Chemistry Center at Gas Technology Institute (GTI), where she is devoted to resolving environmental problems associated with the natural gas industry, such as biomass conversion to high-quality methane gas, greenhouse gas abatement, and biotechnology applications for environmental restoration. Dr. Saber has also worked for several U.S. engineering firms where she served as technical director for large Superfund cleanups. In addition, she served on EPA’s Task Force for Biological Applications to Waste Treatment and was chairperson for the environmental section of the Biotechnology Industry Organization. Dr. Saber received a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Minnesota and awarded a Post-doctoral Fellowship at Yale University. She also has an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a B.A. from Macalester College.


Sharon Shoemaker, California Institute of Food and Agricultural Research (CIFAR)

Sharon Shoemaker, PhD, joined the University of California, Davis, as founder and Director of the California Institute of Food and Agricultural Research (CIFAR) in 1991. Since founding CIFAR, she has initiated a number of new activities, such as administering testing of technologies for reducing waste in food processing operations and constructing a Roadmap for energy efficiency in California’s food processing industry. Before becoming Director of CIFAR, she worked for 15 years in the biotechnology industry. Her industrial experience has led to several patents, including novel yeast strains to convert biomass-to-ethanol. Dr. Shoemaker currently serves as a reviewer for the Department of Energy’s National Stage Gate Biomass Program. She is the 2002 recipient of the Charles D. Scott Award for Biotechnology Research Applied to Production of Fuels and Chemicals and holds a B.S. degree in Chemistry, M.S. degree in Food Science, and Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Nutrition from Virginia Tech.


Merrill Smith, CHP/Distributed Energy Technologies Program Manager, U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability

Merrill Smith is one of the founding members of the Distributed Energy Office at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Her primary responsibility is managing the National Combined Heat and Power Program. In addition, she manages several other programs, such as materials development and the development of low-emissions technologies for advanced turbines and microturbines. Prior to this position, Ms. Smith worked for DOE’s Office of Industrial Technologies, where she worked on several initiatives targeting the promotion of advanced power systems, bioenergy, and Industries of the Future. Ms. Smith initially joined DOE in 1991 after working as a design engineer and construction manager with several engineering firms. She earned a Civil Engineering degree from Virginia Tech and received a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from George Washington University.

Shiva Subramanya, President, Energy and Power Solutions, Inc.

Shiva Subramanya is currently the President of Energy and Power Solutions, Inc., a company based in Orange County that provides financially compelling energy services and solutions to the utility, commercial, and industrial marketplaces. Before co-founding this company in 2001, Mr. Subramanya served as the Director of Development and Construction Management for a national energy services company. He has expert knowledge of the various rebate programs in California and has helped recover over $4MM in rebates in the last three years. Mr. Subramanya has a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a Certified Energy Manager. His credentials also include graduate-level HVAC and energy engineering instruction at Portland State University.

Katharine E. Wagner, Downey, Brand, LLP

Katharine Wagner is a partner in the Environmental Law Practice Group of Downey, Brand, LLP, based in Sacramento, where she advises clients in the development, acquisition, and permitting of energy, industrial, commercial, and water projects and on-site investigation and cleanups. She also advises trade associations and individual clients on water quality issues and other regulatory developments. Ms. Wagner is an active member of the California Construction and Industrial Materials Association, the Association of California Water Agencies, and the State Bar of California Real Property Section. She is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, Magna Cum Laude, and holds a degree in Biology and Environmental Studies from Brown University.


Mike Waugh, Manager, Stationary Source Division - Program Assistance, California Air Resources Board

Mike Waugh has worked in the air quality regulatory field for 20 years. Currently, at the California Air Resources Board, he is Manager of the Program Assistance Section in the Stationary Source Division. In this position, he helps develop statewide regulations, provide permitting assistance to local air districts, and conduct technical studies. His staff is currently developing a regulation to reduce emissions from ocean-going vessels while docked. Other recent regulatory activities he has addressed include portable diesel engines and distributed generation technologies. Mr. Waugh holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a B.A. in English from the University of Texas at Austin.


Susanne Zechiel, Fetzer Winery

Susanne Zechiel is a strong advocate for sustainable business practices in California. Her career began at the California Department of Water Resources and continued as an Environmental Health & Safety Manager at Sprint. In 1997, Ms. Zechiel joined Brown-Forman, where she provided leadership on a broad array of sustainability programs, including three California winery production sites and 1,800 acres of organic vineyards. Since 2004, she has been overseeing environmental compliance and innovative, award-winning programs that have made Brown-Forman, particularly through its Fetzer and Bonterra brands, a leader in the sustainable business movement. Ms. Zechiel earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Masters of Environmental Management and M.B.A. from Duke University.
